I live in the San Francisco Bay Area; a plenitude of teachings and trainings available here in mindfulness as a practice par excellence for rewiring the brain for resilience. In spite of my cautions in the January e-newsletter Reclaiming Conversation about the impact of our over-reliance on our digital devices for social connection, it’s simply true that online courses allow us to access teachers and trainings from far away and at times convenient to our schedules; truly a blessing in cultivating resources for recovering resilience.
Here are three such resources I can heartily recommend, knowing the teachers, knowing the comprehensiveness of their teachings. Learn AND enjoy.
My own Shift Happens: How to Bounce Back from Disappointment, Difficulty, and Even Disaster will air Friday, February 12, 2016, 6pm, part of a new and free Awareness Series sponsored by New World Library that includes 9 other leading teachers of mindful living. Registration for the entire course, February 8-12, 2016, is free; advanced registration includes free replays of all of the classes. An easy and enjoyable resource.
My own teacher James Baraz is offering a new Awakening Joy 2.0 course in 2016. The Awakening Joy course is always a powerful – and joyful – experience of using mindfulness to cultivate loving connections with ourselves and others and deepening a sense of inner peace and contentment. The 2016 course includes leading guest teachers such as Christine Carter, Frank Ostaseski, Anat Baniel, Norma Fischer Debra Chamberlain-Taylor, and many more. Registration for the online course is available now. The transformation from the course will last your entire lifetime.
My friend and colleague Terry Patten is offering a free – and rare – hour-long teleseminar on the Heart of Your Heart, based on his four decades of investigation into why the heart is such a rich source of wisdom, luminosity and love. You can register here for the free teleseminar to air on Wednesday, February 10, 2016; you’ll be able to download a free replay as well.
