Resilience is learned from experience. Early attachment relationships catalyze (or de-rail) the development of 3 R’s of resilience. As a re-parenting figure, regardless of theoretical orientation or therapeutic modality, the therapist plays a central role in catalyzing the recovery of brain functioning when patterns of coping have become dysfunctional, even “stuck” or maladaptive.
