The development of resilience is an experiential process. Early attachment relationships have the potential to catalyze (or de-rail) the development of all the capacities of resilience. Therapists, as re-parenting figures, play a central role in catalyzing the recovery of inner resilience when coping patterns have become dysfunctional, helping clients use empirically validated tools to “rewire” those patterns, and move into thriving and flourishing.
